Alexandre Paiva - Professor

Professor Alexandre Paiva is a black belt under Jacaré, and one of the first generation black belts from the Alliance Jiu-Jitsu team. Alexandre Paiva began training in Jiu-Jitsu in around 1983 with Professor Jacaré, in the Master Jiu-Jitsu Ipanema academy.

Training about 8 hours a day, he began to stand out among students, and began to participate in competitions as a blue belt. Recording many victories early in his career, he was known for finishing nearly all of his opponents with submissions.

Alexandre was so dedicated to his Jiu-Jitsu training, that in addition to his regular training at the Master Jiu-Jitsu academy, every Wednesday he traveled to Botafogo to the Gracie Humaitá academy to train with Rickson Gracie. He is considered to be one of the most technical students of Jacaré. His Jiu-Jitsu style is one of the purest and most effective forms of the art.

The beauty of his movements stands out among others in a class with players like Royler Gracie, and Leozinho Vieira. Alexandre's resume includes being 8 time Carioca Champion, 3 time Brazilian National Champion, Pan-American Champion and most recently, 2007 Masters Middleweight World Champion.uctor.
